Created by Arianna a student at Citrus High School!
I was alerted today that we have a minor bug in the share you Empressr, function, while we work on fixing it here is a bit of a workaround.
-Make sure that you save and publish the presentation, it should not matter if you choose public or private
-Close the Empressr creator/editor and go to your listing of presentations
-Click on the presentation to launch it, once loaded click the share icon in the bottom bar , it’s the envelope.
![]()
That should give you all the sharing options
Thanks
Once again Microsoft has released some press around the vulnerabilities of their office suite, where bad peeps can execute code from a well formed document and take control of your computer. Are we getting tired of this yet?
So if you insist on using those products, please update the latest patches, or you could just delete the installation and that will solve the problem now and into the future.
Since losing my harddrive last week in my MacBook Pro, I have been living off the net without any software installed other than a web browser, while it was initially inconvenient, after 5 days I’m starting to enjoy it. Give it a try, there are a lot of alternatives out there in the cloud, you might be surprised.
If not the latest patches can be found here
Here it is, Empressr Lesson Series #1. Media: Uploads, Importing, and Creation!
The team here at Empressr is always working to make sure your experience with the Empressr platform is the BEST possible. Here is the first of a series of story boards designed to help you use some of our most exciting key features. Enjoy!
Empressr has been privileged to have users from most every neck of the woods imaginable. The INSANE variety of stories posted every day never ceases to amaze us and reinvigorate our excitement for the application.
Well, beyond business implications, among the largest constituents of all presentation tools are students and teachers. Where once teachers were more apt to use classic educational methods, these days it seems more and more base their entire course plan around presentations they have made.
In fact, many are taking the initiative, getting their students engaged with new programs as they come out. They are not only using technology to facilitate education but positioning their students to be ahead of the curve.
A perfect example popped up in Empressr today. Teacher/Empressr user “Iritzel” posted an assignment for his students to review a recent tech article, create a basic Empressr about it, and then use the variety of tools we provide.
Check it out!
Like I promised, new features are planned to roll out every other week.
What’s new this week.
yes you can now search and drag and drop YouTube videos from within Empressr, it works great and is really easy. A couple of items you should be aware of is that YouTube videos have to auto-play (at lest for now) and due to api restrictions you are only allowed one video per slide in empressr. There is no limitation on how many videos you use, so long as it’s one per slide.
To access the video panel click the Import control on the bottom navigation bar
That opens the panel that let’s you search for images on flickr, yahoo and google, and now videos on youtube.

Another feature is the ability to import you notes that you may of made in you powerpoint document, the notes will import in both the jpeg only and the editable versions that we offer. to edit or add your notes click the gear on the lower right hand corner of the slide in the sorter,

that opens the option panel, there are 3 areas in this panel, properties, info and Notes

To see your notes while presenting, you have to launch the notes and twitter dashboard by clicking this icon in the Empressr viewer window
![]()
That icon launches the Dashboard that you can then drag to your second monitor while presenting

Some of the hidden features in the Empressr application are the key commands. Use these commands to speed up your creation time.
Copy = control c or ^c
Paste = control p or ^p (hint, the object gets pasted directly on top of the item copied)
Save = control s or ^s
To constrain a picture while scaling hold the shift key while dragging one of the corner handles
More keyboard shortcuts are coming soon
