Embed an Empressr

Monday, September 25th, 2006

In the latest rev of Empressr, just out late last week, we announce the ability to embed your presentation into web pages. You can do this using javascript (paste the embed code into the source code of your page), html (paste the embed code into your blog, myspace, etc.) You can also send someone a direct link or use the email tool.

There are multiple predetermined sizes that you can choose from, or if you can recognize where the size tags are in the embed code, try modifying them (you prob want to keep the aspect ratio the same, or not).

You’ll find the link to the embed code on your My Presentations page

We think this is very cool, try it out! embed one in your blog. Please let us know your thoughts!

Have fun

Updated Empressr Website

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

We’ve updated our website with a fresh new design. It’s more of a facelift than anything else. But we’re display the latest release changes on the home page so you can see what improvements we’re making. There’s also featured quotes from your reviews and emails, so if you have any thoughts you’d like to share, send them over.

Sharing Sites That We Support

Monday, September 18th, 2006

The easiest way to link to a image outside of the Empressr site is to simply right click an image, copy the image location, then paste that into the image URL field and press insert. Pretty easy. This works as long as the image location is a permanent link.

You can also use the permalinks from Flickr and Photobucket. For Flickr go to the “Available Sizes” area, choose the size and copy the photo’s URL, i.e. http://static.flickr.com/97/237035637_ac752ce258_o.jpg.

For Photobucket it’s a little different, go to your album, navigate to the desired image and select the “Tag” link. It looks something like this:

<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n182/bryanfuse/brt_7099.jpg" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting" border="0" /></a>

You need to make these edits, delete what’s in red, (or copy what’s in black)
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n182/bryanfuse/brt_7099.jpg
" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting" border="0" /></a>

To link a video file from a sharing site, the one that is currently supported is Photobucket.
Coose the “Tag” link and edit it by deleting what is red.
<embed width="430" height="355" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="
http://s112.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid112.photobucket.com/albums/n182/bryanfuse/agora2.flv
"></embed>

Link to External Web Assets

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

We added new functionality which lets you link to assets on the web from your Empressr presentation. All you need is the URL of the item you want to link to.

Select either flash, video or image from the Insert menu in the Editor:

In the pop-up window, select the Link tab, copy/paste the URL into the form field and click the Insert button:

The item should now appear in your presentation. From here, you can resize, rotate, transform and format it like you would any other asset.
